Sarishabari Thana police arrested two members of inter-district cow thieves gang in Sarishabari of Jamalpur. Sarishabari Police Station OC Mushfiqur Rahman confirmed to the media that the arrested thieves have been handed over to the court on Sunday (January 21) afternoon. The arrested thieves are Shafiqul Islam (26) and Motaleb Hossain (24) from Dhamrai Upazila of Dhaka. They are members of an inter-district thief gang. Police said that a pickup van with cows was speeding on the Tarakandi-Bhuyapur highway late on Sunday night. Seeing that, the patrolling police got suspicious. Later, when the pickup van was asked to stop, they tried to flee. At that time, the patrolling policemen chased them and seized the pickup van and recovered the two cows in the pickup. Later, Mominul Islam of Meiya village of Pinna Union of the upazila identified the owner of the two cows and filed a case of theft with the two thieves along with 5-7 unknown accused in the police station. . As a result of the arrest of cow thief members, the people of the area expressed relief and excitement. Sarishabari Police Station OC Mushfiqur Rahman said that the arrested thieves are members of an inter-district thief gang. A case of cow theft has been handed over to the court against them. He said that the police on night patrol are alert about cow theft.
